Resource Library

The Corner Brook Women's Centre houses a resource library which is especially important in a community whose largest bookstore doesn't have a women's issues section. Women are free to borrow books in a safe and non-judgemental environment. The library covers topics such as:

  • AIDS
  • Senior's Issues
  • Abortion
  • Feminism
  • Addictions
  • Violence
  • Poverty
  • Gay and Lesbian Issues
  • Parenting
  • Survivors of Abuse
  • Employment
  • Women's History

  • As well, we collect and organize information packages in an ongoing process on a variety of community health issues and other topics of interest to women and their families.

The Library also has a computer which is available for word processing functions. You can use it to format a resume or write a letter etc. If you need a resume printed or copied the Centre can provide you with one copy for free and extra copies can be purchased for a small cost-recovery fee.

We also have a number of scrapbooks of newspaper clippings which show the role that the Centre has played in community development over the past 25 years.
